IPL 2025: Fans slam Virat Kohli for running out Phil Salt in RCB vs DC clash

Virat Kohli scored 22 runs against DC in match 24 of IPL 2025.

Undoubtedly, Virat Kohli is one of the fastest runners between the wickets. However, he has also witnessed many run out goof-ups with his batting partners. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman indulged in yet another run out blunder in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, and this time it was with his opening partner Phil Salt.

RCB and Delhi Capitals (DC) are facing each other at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday in match No. 24 of the season. Salt and Kohli opened the batting for RCB after DC won the toss and opted to bowl first.

During fourth over of the first innings in RCB vs DC clash, Salt hit a shot towards cover off DC skipper Axar Patel and tried to sneak a quick single. However, he was sent back by Kohli, and as he turned back, he slipped on the pitch. DC executed an easy run out to grab their first wicket of the match.

Notably, Salt and Kohli added a quickfire stand of 61 runs in just 3.5 overs before the run-out. Salt slammed 37 runs off just 17 deliveries including four boundaries and three sixes, before his dismissal.

Meanwhile, Kohli lost his wicket in the sixth over after adding 22 runs. RCB started well with 64 runs in the powerplay overs. However, DC bowlers made a stunning comeback to restrict RCB batters from going big at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The Rajat Patidar & Co. could only reach 163/7 in 20 overs. Skipper Patidar added 25 runs, but the home team lost crucial batters like Devdutt Padikkal (1) and Liam Livingstone (4), and Jitesh Sharma (4) for single digits.
