IPL 2025: Why will Gujarat Titans sport a lavender colour jersey in GT vs LSG clash? Revealed

Gujarat Titans (GT) will clash with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their next match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The GT vs LSG encounter will take place at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, May 22. However, this won’t be a regular match for GT as their players will wear a lavender colour jersey in the match.

Shubman Gill is the skipper of GT in IPL 2025. They have shown wonderful form in the tournament. They grab the top spot in the points table with 18 points. GT have played 12 games, winning nine matches and losing three. They have also qualified for the playoffs.

The Titans clinched a stunning victory against Delhi Capitals (DC) in their previous game to seal their playoffs berth. Chasing 200 runs in the match, GT openers Sai Sudharsan (108*) and Shubman Gill (93*) led from the front. They etched an opening stand of unbeaten 205 runs to power GT to victory by 10 wickets.

Gujarat Titans players to wear lavender jerseys in GT vs LSG clash to raise cancer awareness

GT are scheduled to play two more games in the league stage. In their next match at home against LSG, Shubman Gill & Co. will wear a lavender coloured jersey to raise awareness against cancer. They aim to raise awareness about cancer prevention and encourage regular health checkups during the match.

Notably, the franchise will also distribute 10,000 lavender jerseys and 30,000 lavender flags to the fans inside the stadium during the match. Hence, the franchise is putting in a lot of effort to promote cancer awareness among viewers during the GT vs LSG match.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant-led LSG are already out of the race for the playoffs. However, they are scheduled to play two more games this season. LSG have played 12 games so far in IPL 2025, winning five matches and losing seven games. With 10 points, they take the seventh spot in the points table.

Interestingly, the Super Giants crushed the Titans by six wickets when the both sides met earlier this season. However, they will face a big challenge in the upcoming game with GT having the home advantage.
