IPL 2025: "Calm your.."- Jitesh Sharma reveals batting tricks shared by Virat Kohli

Jitesh Sharma joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025.

Wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. RCB bought him for INR 11 crore during IPL 2025 mega auction. Since joining, Sharma has spent a lot of time with teammate Virat Kohli in IPL 2025. Kohli also taught him a few batting tricks.

Sharma emerged as a valuable addition for RCB in IPL 2025. Batting at the lower-order, the right-handed batsman slammed 128 runs across eight innings. He held a strike rate of 142.22 with a top knock of unbeaten 40* in one match. He helped RCB to capture crucial runs while batting in the lower order.

His teammate Kohli has also delivered a stunning performance in IPL 2025. Batting as an opener for RCB, Kohli has smacked 505 runs in 11 games at a stunning average of 63.13. He has also slammed seven half-centuries with a top knock of an unbeaten 73 runs.

During a chat with host Mayanti Langer on RCB podcast show “Bold and Beyond,” Sharma revealed that Kohli taught him some batting tricks after he joined RCB in IPL 2025.

“These small-small tricks he has taught me…calm your nerves, think about the game and take a decision. People like you who come in the number of 5-6, they always think about hitting six. But with your intensity, you’re clear on how to attack. Think about shifting your focus. That’s the small small things he’s told me,” Sharma said.

Notably, Kohli won the Orange Cap last season and is a strong contender to finish as the highest run-scorer this season too. He is the fifth-highest run-scorer currently with 505 runs.

Meanwhile, RCB have shown a wonderful performance in the tournament. They have already qualified for the playoffs. Currently, they grab the second spot in the points table with 17 points. The three-time runners-up have won eight games and lost three out of 12, including one no result game.

RCB’s previous clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was washed out due to rain and ended with no result. The Rajat Patidar-led side have two more games left in the league stage. They will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 25 and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 27.
