IPL 2025: Jofra Archer's 12 years old tweet goes viral as he concedes 76 runs against SRH

Jofra Archer went for 76 runs against SRH, the most expensive spell in the history of IPL.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered the second-highest total in IPL history – 286/6 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their opening game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

After being asked to bat first on a great batting wicket, Ishan Kishan led the scoring for the hosts with an unbeaten 106 off 47 balls, hitting 11 fours and six sixes. He received support from Travis Head (67) and Heinrich Klaasen (34) to rack up the huge total.

It was a forgettable day for RR’s star signing Jofra Archer, who registered an unwanted record for conceding the most runs in a spell in IPL history, finishing with match figures of 76/0 in his four overs.

Earlier, RR had signed Archer for a whopping INR 12.5 crores at the mega auction. Notably, Archer, known for having relevant tweets on contemporary events, had posted a suitable one 12 years ago.
