Kagiso Rabada was earlier suspended after failing drug test.
Kagiso Rabada made headlines when he left Gujarat Titans (GT) camp after playing the first few games in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 and flew to South Africa. But an even bigger and more shocking revelation was made when everyone came to know about the cause of him leaving the team and flying back home.
Despite that, GT did very well and are among the front-runners to make it to the playoffs. They have 14 points on the board in 10 games and are placed fourth in the table. GT are scheduled to face the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in their next game on Tuesday evening at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Ahead of the upcoming clash, GT and their fans have received a massive boost as the South African pacer is all set to make his comeback in the IPL 2025. The reports further confirmed that Rabada is available to feature in the MI vs GT clash on Tuesday.

Kagiso Rabada tested positive for a recreational drug during the SA20 competition in January. The news was confirmed by the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS). As a result, he suffered a one-month ban on April 1.
SAIDS confirmed, “Mr. Rabada tested positive for a Substance of Abuse and was subsequently notified of the allegation of his doping offence on 1 April 2025. A provisional suspension was imposed.”
The pacer admitted his mistake and agreed to the ban. He also took part in an awareness program to prevent future substance abuse. With the ban done, he is now eligible to participate in the upcoming games in IPL 2025.
The SAIDS stated, “The Player accepted responsibility for the doping offence and honoured his provisional suspension. As per the South African Anti-Doping Rules specifically pertaining to a Substances of Abuse, the Player was offered an opportunity to complete a substance abuse treatment program. The Player has effectively served one (1) month period of ineligibility and may now resume participation in sport.”
Notably, Rabada played two matches for GT this season. He took two wickets. He was signed by the franchise at a whopping price of INR 10.75 crores at the IPL 2025 mega auction. With GT approaching the playoffs, his return can boost the team’s chances and strengthen their pace bowling unit.
