Mitchell Marsh is the third-highest run-scorer in IPL 2025.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are currently taking on Gujarat Titans (GT) in 26th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Shockingly, Aussie all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is not part of the LSG’s playing XI in the match.
The LSG vs GT clash of IPL 2025 is taking place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. LSG skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match.
Marsh has shown a wonderful form in IPL 2025 so far. The Aussie stalwart has slammed 265 runs in five games at a batting average of 53.0 and strike rate of 180.27. The right-handed batsman has slammed four fifties across five matches with a top knock of 81.
Rishabh Pant reveals why Mitchell Marsh isn’t part of the playing XI vs GT
During the toss, Pant revealed that Marsh is not part of the playing XI in the encounter. The LSG skipper revealed that Marsh misses the game to take care of his daughter, who is not well. Himmat Singh has replaced Marsh in LSG vs KKR match.
“Instead of Mitchell Marsh, Himmat Singh comes in. His daughter is not well,” Pant said during the toss.
Marsh is also the third-highest run-getter in the tournament and follows Nicholas Pooran and Sai Sudharsan on the Orange Cap Leaderboard. Marsh smacked a marvellous 81-run knock in LSG’s last match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), which LSG eventually won by four runs.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant & Co. have won three games and lost two out of five in IPL 2025. With six points, they grab the sixth spot in the updated points table. Their opponent, Shubman Gill-led GT, are the top-ranked side in the points table with four wins out of five encounters.
