IPL 2025: Mayank Yadav gets green signal to play for Lucknow Super Giants - Reports

LSG retained Mayank Yadav for INR 11 crores before IPL 2025.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have a piece of good news in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as their pace sensation Mayank Yadav is set to return to the squad. LSG are led by Rishabh Pant in IPL 2025. Notably, Yadav was retained by the Super Giants ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction for INR 11 crores.
However, due to a toe injury, he missed the first few games for LSG this season. He was recovering at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Earlier in the first week of April, LSG head coach Justin Langer had informed that Yadav was recovering well at the NCA and would be on the field soon.
Mayank Yadav to join LSG camp on Tuesday- Reports
According to a report in India Today, the right-arm pacer is set to join the LSG camp on Tuesday, April 15. The report suggests that BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) has given Yadav the green signal to play in the tournament. However, the final decision will be taken by the LSG coaching staff.
Yadav made headlines last season with his ability to bowl 150+ deliveries consistently. He won back-to-back Player of the Match awards in his first two games after making his IPL debut for LSG last season. However, he suffered an injury in his third game and was ruled out of the entire tournament.
LSG were short of four crucial injured pacers at the start of the season. However, Akash Deep and Avesh Khan have made their comeback to the side after recovery. Shardul Thakur replaced injured pacer Mohsin Khan in the squad. Now, Yadav’s return will strengthen the team’s pace attack.
Meanwhile, LSG will clash with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 30th match of IPL 2025 on Monday, April 14. The venue of the match is Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The Rishabh Pant & Co. have won four games and lost two out of six so far in the league.
