SRH retained Nitish Kumar Reddy ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction for INR 6 crores.
We are just one week away from the start of 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). All ten franchises are gearing up for this lucrative league, which will kick off on March 22. Players are joining their respective camps, while the support staff are already up and running in preparations.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had an incredible campaign last season, but they were unlucky to finish as the runners-up. However, they will try to complete that unfinished business in IPL 2025 and get their hands on the trophy. Ahead of the start of the season, SRH have received a massive boost.
The star Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has received green signal from the Centre of Excellence of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and is all set to join the Orange Army for the upcoming season. The all-rounder, who has been out of action for a while, has cleared the fitness test and will be available pretty soon.

It has come as massive news for the SRH team, management, and fans, as Nitish can add a lot of value to the team in both departments. As per PTI, the 21-year-old cleared all fitness requirements, which also includes the yo-yo test. He has received the clearance from the physio at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
Nitish was part of the Indian team for the tour of Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. His last international game was on January 22 in the first T20I against England at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Since then, he has been out of action and was completing his rehab.
Nitish Kumar Reddy played a crucial role in IPL 2024 for SRH. He scored a total of 303 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of almost 143. His performance and ability to win matches forced the franchise to retain him, and he got retained for INR 6 crores.
Not just that, his IPL 2024 stint helped him to make his India debut in T20I and later in tests. And now having cleared the fitness test, the all-rounder might look to join the franchise as soon as possible. Notably, SRH will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
