Asia Cup 2025: 3 IPL performers who can find a place in the Indian squad

India will face UAE in their opening encounter of the Asia Cup 2025 on September 10 in Dubai.

The Indian Cricket Team are ready to defend their title in the 17th edition of the Asia Cup, starting on September 9. The Men in Blue will kick off their tournament with a match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Dubai on September 10. As per the many reports, it is learned that the selection committee is likely to reveal India’s squad in the third or fourth week of August.

There are plenty of rumours circulating about several players possibly making it to the Indian squad. The selectors might reward some players for their good performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

It won’t be a surprise if some players might be back in the squad after a long time. Hence, we will discuss here about three IPL stars who can get into the Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025.

Asia Cup 2025: 3 IPL performers who can find a place in the Indian squad

1. Krunal Pandya (Royal Challengers Bengaluru)

Krunal Pandya was a vital cog in the wheel for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in ending their trophy drought in the IPL 2025. He had some below-par performances in the last few seasons, but this season saw a different version of him.

He took 17 wickets at an economy rate of 8.24 and won the Player of the Match award in the final for 2/17. Krunal is a smart operator with the ball and gives you a few important runs with the bat. He can be very hard to face on the slow pitches in the UAE and can be rewarded for his good performances in the IPL 2025.

2. Shreyas Iyer (Punjab Kings)

It took Punjab Kings more than a decade to play an IPL final, and it came under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. Since last year or so, Iyer has been in tremendous form and is scoring runs consistently. He was India’s leading scorer in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on UAE pitches.

With the Asia Cup 2025 being played in the UAE and Iyer having immense experience and having been successful on such pitches, he is likely to get his long-due chance in T20Is. He played his last T20I for India in December 2023, and we might see him again in the Asia Cup 2025.

3. Sai Sudharsan (Gujarat Titans)

Sai Sudharsan set the IPL 2025 on fire with his exclusive stroke-play and consistency with the bat. Sudharsan finished with 759 runs and won the Orange Cap. He also earned his test cap because of his good form.

However, he failed to deliver with the bat on the English tour, but his good form in T20s and his ability to play on slow and sluggish pitches can help him get a chance in the Indian T20I side for the Asia Cup 2025.
