The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has lavished rich praise on Rajasthan Royals‘ (RR) youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his brilliant performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The PM met the 14-year-old at Patna airport on Friday (30th May).
RR opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi was one of the finds of IPL 2025. The 14-year-old set the stage on fire with his brilliant batting performances and made almost everyone stand and applaud him for his heroics in the league, scoring quick runs at the top.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his debut for RR after regular skipper Sanju Samson got injured midway through the season. The young batter stole the limelight with his brutal ton against Gujarat Titans when he slammed a century in just 35 balls, registering the fastest hundred by an Indian batter in the league’s history.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi was all over the Titans’ bowlers during that game, as he ended up playing an innings of 101 off 38 balls. This was overall the second fastest ton in the history of the IPL. After that, he continued impressing with his blistering starts at the top and invited many praises.
My best wishes to him for his future endeavours – PM Narendra Modi on Vaibhav Suryavanshi
While Vaibhav Suryavanshi was credited by almost everyone in the cricket fraternity, one of the biggest praises for him came from PM Narendra Modi. The young cricketer met the head of the country at Patna airport as the pictures went viral all over the internet.
Modi posted the pictures with Suryavanshi and passed on his good wishes to the batter. Taking to his Twitter account, the PM of India said:
“At Patna airport, met the young cricketing sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his family. His cricketing skills are being admired all over the nation! My best wishes to him for his future endeavours.”
This, however, was not the first time Narendra Modi praised young Vaibhav Suryavanshi. During the inaugural ceremony of the 7th Khelo India Youth Games via videoconferencing, he had said:
“I have seen in the IPL, the son of Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s spectacular performance. At such a young age, Vaibhav has set such a great record. There is a lot of hard work behind Vaibhav’s performance.”
Suryavanshi played a vital role for RR in the ongoing IPL 2025. He played seven games and mustered 252 runs at an average of 36.00 and a strike rate of over 206.55.
