IPL 2025: Dinesh Karthik leads wishes as cricketing fraternity hail RCB for their first home win of the season

RCB defeated RR by 11 runs in the match No. 42 of IPL 2025.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally registered a win at their home ground in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. They defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 42nd match of the tournament, which took place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After RCB crushed RR in the encounter to grab their first victory of IPL 2025 at home, their mentor Dinesh Karthik and fans have hailed the team on social media.

Talking about the match, RR skipper Riyan Parag won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. RCB opener Virat Kohli led the way in batting with his half-century. The right-handed batter slammed his fifth half-century in IPL 2025. He also jumped to the second spot in the Orange Cap leaderboard. Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal powered RCB to a mammoth 205/5 with their fifties.

During the chase, RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed a quickfire knock of 49 off 19 balls. Later, wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel also hammered crucial 47 runs. However, RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood crushed RR batters with his spectacular four-wicket haul and won the Player of the Match (POTM) award. Spinner Krunal Pandya picked two wickets as RR ended with 194/9 in the end.

After RCB won the match, their fans stormed micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter) with numerous tweets to laud the team. They also praised Kohli and Hazlewood, who played a major role in the clash. Notably, “#Virat Kohli” and “#Josh Hazlewood” became the top trending hashtags on X after RCB vs RR game.

Meanwhile, RCB have moved to third spot in IPL 2025 points table. They have 12 points from nine games after winning six matches and losing three. They follow Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in the points table, who take the top two spots respectively with an equal 12 points. The Rajat Padidar & Co. will next clash with Delhi Capitals on Sunday, April 27 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
