IPL 2025: Why match No. 65, RCB vs SRH, is moved out of Bengaluru ? New venue revealed

Match No. 65 of IPL 2025, RCB vs SRH, has been moved out of Bengaluru.
In match No. 65 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will collide with each other. The RCB vs SRH match will be played on Friday, May 23. The match was originally scheduled to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has changed the venue for the clash.
SRH, led by Pat Cummins, who reached the final last season, have been eliminated from the playoffs race this season already. They have shown a horrible form this season. Out of 12 matches so far, SRH have won just four games and lost seven clashes. One match ended with no result. They are currently placed seventh in the points table with nine points.
On the other hand, RCB have been one of the dominating sides in IPL 2025. Led by Rajat Patidar, RCB have already qualified for the playoffs of the tournament. RCB have played 12 games in the season, winning eight games and losing three matches. Their one match ended with no result. RCB grab the second spot in the points table with 17 points.
BCCI name new venue for RCB vs SRH, match 65 of IPL 2025
On Tuesday, May 20, BCCI announced a new venue for the forthcoming RCB vs SRH clash. The match will now take place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
BCCI made this decision due to unfavourable weather conditions in Bengaluru. The city has witnessed heavy rains for the last few days. Notably, RCB’s last match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru was washed out due to rain. The match didn’t even observe the toss and ended with no result.
Meanwhile, RCB and SRH are scheduled to play two more games in IPL 2025. The Rajat Patidar & Co. will clash with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their last league match. The encounter will also take place in Lucknow on May 27. SRH will clash with KKR in the last match of the tournament. The encounter will be played on May 25 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
