Riyan Parag smashed 95 off 45 deliveries during his stay at the crease.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) locked horns in the 53rd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Sunday, May 4. The clash took place at KKR’s home ground Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. RR skipper Riyan Parag slammed a marvellous knock of 95 runs in the match.

KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to bat first in the clash. KKR openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sunil Narine added 35 and 11 respectively. Later, Rahane added crucial 30 runs while Angkrish Raghuvanshi slammed 44 runs. Later, No.5 batter Andre Russell smacked a stunning half-century to power the team to 206/4. He slammed quickfire 57* runs off 25 balls.

During the chase, RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed a decent knock of 34 runs. However, his opening partner Vaibhav Suryavanshi got out cheaply for four runs. Batting at No. 3, Kunal Singh Rathore got out for a duck. However, skipper Parag slammed a deadly 95 runs off just 45 balls to keep the winning hopes alive.

During 13th over of the chase, Parag slammed five consecutive sixes off Moeen Ali to stun the spectators at the Eden Gardens. The right-handed batter cleared the ropes all over the park as Ali went helpless. Later, the RR captain also slammed a six off the first delivery he faced in the next over to make it six sixes in a row. However, there was a wide in between Moeen Ali’s over where Riyan hit five consecutive sixes off legal deliveries.

The video of Parag’s power hitting off Ali’s over went viral on the social media platform X (Twitter). RR fans shared the video of the moment on X and lauded Parag for his achievement. Have a look at the video below.

Meanwhile, the RR skipper could not reach his century in the match after losing his wicket to Harshit Rana. His wonderful innings also went in vain as the Knight Riders eventually won the match by one run in a thrilling final over. Russell was adjudged Player of the Match for his quick-fire half-century in the first innings.
