Sam Curran reveals CSK late-night practice before season opener vs MI
Speaking to Nasser Hussain on Sky Cricket, Curran revealed that he was batting with MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja until 11:30 PM the night before CSK’s season opener against MI.
Curran said, “The other night I was batting with MS and Jadeja (Ravindra Jadeja) at 11:30 in the evening. I was thinking, where in the world would you do this? The lights were on, and we were just smacking balls everywhere.“
Reflecting on Dhoni’s legacy in Chennai, the English all-rounder mentioned how local players come to the ground just to watch him bat.
He added, “You have all the local players around the group, and they just sit there and watch MS. It is just the aura of the guy. He is so easy to chat with, and I think his calmness, I guess the big moments he’s been involved in. But he never seems to panic.“
CSK will play four of their first six games of IPL 2025 at their home ground, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The franchise will expect their spinners to make the most of the turning wicket.
