5 IPL stars who failed in Round 4 of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 ft. Rishabh Pant

A few Indian stars, part of IPL 2026, failed to deliver a good show in Round 4.
Round 4 of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 took place on Wednesday, December 31, observing nail-biting clashes between different domestic teams. In the Elite group, 16 teams squared off in eight games, while six teams clashed in three encounters in the Plate group.
A few prominent Indian batters like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devdutt Padikkal, and Sarfaraz Khan rocked with their centuries in Round 4 for their respective teams.
Several Indian players who have secured lucrative contracts in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) are also participating in the Vijay Hazare. A few of them failed to deliver a good show in the fourth round. Below are five such players.
5. Priyansh Arya- (Punjab Kings)

Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Priyansh Arya has been retained by the franchise for INR 3.80 crore for the next season. The left-handed batsman, who plays for Delhi in VHT 2025-26, got out cheaply for just five runs in the clash against Odisha.
He came up with a brilliant half-century (78) in the previous game against Saurashtra. However, he failed to replicate his performance once again.
4. Vaibhav Arora- (Kolkata Knight Riders)

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have retained pacer Vaibhav Arora in their squad for INR 1.80 crore ahead of IPL 2026. Representing Himachal Pradesh, he emerged expensive in the clash against Punjab, picking one wicket for 47 runs in his seven-over spell.
Across four games in the Vijay Hazare so far, the right-arm pacer has clinched just three wickets and has largely struggled to impress.
3. Angkrish Raghuvanshi – (Kolkata Knight Riders)
Young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been retained by Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 3 crore for the next IPL season, following his impressive show in the previous season. The Mumbai batter got out for 11 runs in the clash against Goa, although his team managed to win the clash.
In four matches, this right-handed batsman has scored one half-century – an unbeaten innings of 68 runs in the last game against Chhattisgarh.
2. Harshal Patel – (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
Harshal Patel will represent Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026, as he has been retained by the franchise for a high price of INR 8 crore. Playing for Gujarat in VHT 2025-26, the right-arm seamer failed to make a mark against Railways in round four.
In his nine-over spell, he remained wicketless and leaked 63 runs at a poor economy of 7.0. Gujarat also lost the clash by four wickets, failing to defend their first innings total of 283/10. Notably, Patel impressed in the previous game, claiming a three-wicket haul against Haryana.
1. Rishabh Pant- (Lucknow Super Giants)

Having a contract worth INR 27 crore with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Rishabh Pant is the most expensive player in IPL history. The wicket-keeper batter is captaining Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In the clash against Odisha on Wednesday, he scored only 24 runs as his team suffered their first defeat in the tournament. Across four matches, Pant has scored one half-century (70), which came against Gujarat.
