IPL 2025: Virat Kohli breaks David Warner's record for most 50+ scores in the tournament history

Indian veteran batsman Virat Kohli has added another feather to his cap by scoring a half-century in the 37th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The right-handed batsman now has the most fifty-plus scores in IPL. He has displaced David Warner from the top spot.
The RCB opener reached the milestone after his unbeaten half-century during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Punjab Kings (PBKS) match on Sunday, April 20.
Kohli now has 67 fifty-plus scores in IPL. Out of these, there are 59 half-centuries and 8 centuries. He has leapfrogged Australia stalwart Warner for the record, who has 66 fifty-plus knocks in the tournament. Kohli has reached the milestone in 252 innings. The next three members on the list are Shikhar Dhawan (53), Rohit Sharma (45), and KL Rahul (43). However, they are quite far away from Kohli’s record.
Virat Kohli scores his fourth half-century in IPL 2025
The RCB opener also slammed his fourth half-century in IPL 2025 during the PBKS vs RCB clash. He scored an unbeaten 73 runs in the match, his highest knock so far in the tournament. He also won the player of the match (POTM) award for his match-winning knock.
Virat Kohli has showcased a stunning form in the tournament. He is the leading run-getter for his team with 322 runs in eight games. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers registered their fifth win of the season after a win over Kings. They have won five games and lost three out of eight. They have 10 points.
After the win, RCB secured third place in the points table. Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS are now in fourth place with 10 points. They have won five matches and lost three matches.
RCB will next face Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday, April 24. The encounter will take place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It is the 42nd match of the tournament. PBKS will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next clash.
