IPL 2025: Virat Kohli equals David Warner's record of most 50+ scores in the IPL

Virat Kohli scored his third fifty in IPL 2025 during RCB vs RR clash.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Virat Kohli scored a marvellous half-century against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 28th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. With his 62-run knock in RR vs RCB clash on Sunday, April 13, Kohli has equalled David Warner’s record of most 50+ scores in IPL.
RCB looked to chase down a 174-run target in the clash at RR’s home ground Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. RR openers Kohli and Phil Salt (65) registered opening stand of 92 runs in 8.4 overs to give their side a winning start. After Salt’s dismissal Devdutt Padikkal added unbeaten 40 runs as RCB snatched victory by nine wickets in just 17.3 overs.
Virat Kohli equals David Warner’s record in IPL
With his third half-century in IPL 2025, Kohli has also equalled former Australian player David Warner’s record for most 50-plus knocks in the IPL. Kohli and Warner both account for 66 50-plus scores in the tournament.
Notably, Kohli has achieved the milestone in 250 innings. Out of these 66 knocks, 58 are half-centuries while eight are centuries. On the other hand, Warner played 184 games in the tournament, hitting four tons and 62 fifties. The former DC opener went unsold at the IPL 2025 mega auction in November last year.

Meanwhile, Kohli has showcased a fabulous form in IPL 2025 so far. The right-handed batsman has smacked 248 runs in six games at an average of 62.0. He also owns a stunning batting strike rate of 143.35. After his match-winning knock against RR, Kohli has also moved to the fifth spot in the Orange Cap Leaderboard in the tournament.
Rajat Patidar-led RCB have won four games and lost two matches out of six encounters. With eight points, the IPL 2016 runners-up grab the third spot in IPL 2025 points table. They will next face Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday, April 18 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Benglaluru.
