The IPL 2025 final, RCB vs PBKS, will take place in Ahmedabad.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) will clash in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday, June 3. The final of IPL 2025, RCB vs PBKS, will be played at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Rajat Patidar is the skipper of RCB in IPL 2025, while Shreyas Iyer is the captain of PBKS. RCB reached the final after defeating PBKS in the Qualifier 1 match on May 29. On the other hand, PBKS defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Qualifier 2 following a thrashing defeat in Qualifier 1 to bag a berth in the IPL 2025 final.
Notably, the PBKS vs MI Qualifier 2 match also took place in Ahmedabad. The game was affected by rain at the start. Therefore, the encounter observed a delay of two hours. However, the match was not shortened by any overs. Since the IPL 2025 final is also scheduled to be played in Ahmedabad, the encounter might be affected by rain.
Who will win IPL 2025 if the RCB vs PBKS final gets washed out due to rain?
The final of IPL 2025 between RCB and PBKS is originally scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM on Tuesday evening. There is a two-hour extra time allotted for the match in case of any interruptions caused by rain. Hence, the clash will not be shortened by any overs if it starts by 9:30 PM.
Unlike the other matches, the final of the tournament has a reserve day. Hence, if the match on June 3 gets washed out due to rain, the encounter will take place on the following day, June 4. The reserve day also has an extra time of two hours.
Hence, if the match is delayed for more than two hours at the start, some overs will be shortened from each innings. The match should witness at least five overs per side to determine a winner. If the final is washed out due to rain on the reserve day, the team that finished higher in the points table will be declared as winners of IPL 2025.
Hence, Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS will win the title in such a scenario. The IPL 2014 runners-up finished in the top spot in the league stage points table with 19 points. RCB ended in the second spot with an equal number of points but a lower Net Run Rate (NRR).
