Delhi Capitals (DC) are hosting Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) currently in match No. 46 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Sunday, April 27. The match is underway at DC’s home ground – Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Notably, RCB’s in-form opener Phil Salt is not part of the playing XI in the match.
RCB skipper Rajat Patidar won the toss and chose to bowl first in the match. During the toss, he revealed that Salt has been rested for the game. He also informed that the England batter has been rested due to fever. Notably, Salt has helped RCB to get quickfire starts in many games with his opening partner Virat Kohli.
“Bethell replaces Salt in the playing XI as Salt is down with fever,” notified RCB skipper Rajat Patidar at the toss.

RCB have roped in Jacob Bethel in the playing XI as a replacement for Salt. The England batter has made his IPL debut in the match. The left-handed batsman was bought by RCB at the IPL 2025 mega auction for a whopping amount of INR 2.60 crores. There were no other changes in the RCB’s playing XI. DC skipper Axar Patel informed that Faf du Plessis is back for the match. He missed a few games due to an injury.
Salt has shown a phenomenal form in IPL 2025. The right-handed batsman is the second-highest run-scorer for the team after Kohli. He accounts for 239 runs across nine games at a strike rate of 168.30. He has also hammered two fifties so far.
Meanwhile, RCB and DC are two powerful teams in IPL 2025. DC have won six games and lost only two out of eight. RCB have won six games and lost only three out of nine games. Both teams captured victories in the previous games of IPL 2025. While RCB bagged a win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their last game, DC crushed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their previous encounter.
