Irani Cup 2024 will be played from October 1 to October 5 in Lucknow.

After the conclusion of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25, the focus now shifts on the next Indian domestic Firct Class (FC) cricket tournament, Irani Cup 2024, which will be played between the defending Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai and Rest of India (ROI) from October 1 to October 5.

Irani Cup is a one-match affair hosted annually by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) between the defending Ranji Trophy champions and a team consisted of players from all other states (Rest of India).

The one-off match between the two sides was originally scheduled to be played in Mumbai, but due to weather conditions, the Irani Cup 2024 will now be played in Lucknow.

Mumbai defeated Vidarbha by 169 runs in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 final to win their 42nd elite domestic title.

Talking about the Rest of India squad, veteran opener Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead the side. Abhimanyu Easwaran, who captained India B in the Duleep Trophy 2024, has been named as vice-captain of ROI for Irani Cup 2024.
