The Village Ground in Malahide will be hosting the 3-match series between Ireland and India.

Ireland have announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming 3-match T20I series against India. Paul Stirling will be leading the Irish squad for the India series. Ireland, after facing a debacle in the World Cup 2023 qualifier made a solid comeback in the Europe World T20 qualifying final and booked their place for the T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and the USA. Most of the Ireland squad from the Europe qualifier have been retained. All-rounder Fionn Hand has been recalled and the hosts have also included Gareth Delany in the Squad.

Ireland men’s national selector Andrew White said, “The recent qualifying campaign in Scotland was the first stage of our strategic planning for next June’s World T20. We currently have around 15 T20 internationals scheduled between now and the World Cup…. Giving opportunities to players also filters down the series themselves, so I would expect that all of the 15 players named in the India series squad will feature at some point in time”. The hosts will be looking to gain experience before the T20 World Cup 2024 in June next year.

Paul Stirling will lead the side after Andy Balbirnie stepped aside from the leadership after the World Cup 2023 qualifiers. Mark Adair and Barry McCarthy had brilliant performances in the Men’s T20 qualifier Europe, they will have a big role ahead against India in the upcoming 3-match series starting on 18th August. All three T20I games will be played at the Village ground in Malahide. Ireland’s chief selector cited the upcoming series as important for the team’s preparations.
