Team India won the 3rd T20I against West Indies by 7 wickets to stay in the hunt.

Indian fans created a huge outrage against Indian captain Hardik Pandya when he finished the 3rd T20I against West Indies with a six. Tilak Varma required only one run to complete his half-century in back-to-back innings. Hardik’s winning shot prevented Tilak Varma from completing his well-deserved fifty. Captain Hardik Pandya scored 20 runs in 15 balls, with one four and one six in his inning. Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has made a cryptic tweet with a hidden message in it, and fans have taken that as an indirect dig at current India’s stand-in T20I captain Hardik Pandya.

Did Pathan took a swipe at Hardik Pandya?

In his tweet, Irfan Pathan wrote, “Mushkil kaam aap karo, Aasan kaam main kar leta hun. Suna Suna sa lgta hai. (You do the tough job; I will do the easy one.) We have heard this before.” While a few of the fans related that tweet to Hardik Pandya, some took it as a dig at MS Dhoni’s finishing role. Soon after Pandya’s winning shot, fans went outraged on Twitter and criticised Hardik Pandya for not giving the youngster an opportunity to complete his milestone.

Tilak Varma, along with Suryakumar Yadav, added an 87-run stand for the third wicket to help India chase down a target of 160 runs set by the host West Indies. Once again in the series, the top order struggled against West Indian bowlers as they lost the first two wickets inside the power play. Making his T20I debut, Yashasvi Jaiswal could only score one in his debut inning. Shubman Gill was also out for just six runs. The team were two down at 34 in the fifth over. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma stitched a match-winning partnership under pressure.

Suryakumar Yadav smashed 83 runs in 44 balls, with 10 fours and four towering sixes in his innings. He was also awarded Player of the Match for his inning. Batting first, West Indies put 159 runs on the board with the help of Brandon King (42) and Rovman Powell (40). Kuldeep Yadav in the middle curtailed West Indian batters to 15 runs less than the one they were cruising in during their innings. Kuldeep picked up three wickets in his four overs, conceding only 28 runs.
