This achievement marked the fourth-best figures ever recorded by an Indian bowler in ODIs, including the impressive feat of taking four wickets in just his second over. Sri Lanka, in response, struggled and were dismissed for just 50 runs, their lowest score against India.

The opening pair of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill wasted no time in chasing down the target, reaching 51 runs in just 6.1 overs without losing a wicket. This impressive display secured India's victory and the Asia Cup 2023 title.
