There was a reserve day for IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 Super Four clash.

As India and Sri Lanka are preparing themselves to take on each other in the Asia Cup 2023 final at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, everyone hopes for no rain interruption or delay just like the previous game between India and Bangladesh. India vs Bangladesh clash remained the only game so far in the tournament in Sri Lanka played without any rain break or delay. Rest all the matches played in Sri Lanka’s Kandy and Colombo have been a rain hit. 17th September will witness a battle for the most prestigious Asia Cup crown between the two most successful sides in the continent.

Is there a reserve day for IND vs SL Asia Cup 2023 final?

As the rain threat is there, Fans will be wondering what will happen in case of rain. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has kept a reserve day for the Asia Cup 2023 final just like they had for the India vs Pakistan Super 4. These are the only two games in the tournament with reserve day assigned. In case of a total washout, the game will move to the next on Monday, 18th September. And even if some action happens the game will resume from that position on the next day. There is 80% chance of rain on reserve day as well.

Despite Sri Lanka witnessing heavy rain, only one clash ended without any result possible in Kandy. Rest all matches saw rain delays, interruption, flash showers, and reserve day but the result came out and two teams qualified for the finals with their full points and not shared. Sri Lankan ground staff have earned huge praise for their continued hard work at Pallekele Stadium and in R Premadasa Stadium to make every game possible apart from India vs Pakistan played in the Group round in Kandy.

Sri Lanka’s virtual Semifinal against Pakistan witnessed heavy showers before the toss, but the ground staff’s efforts made a 42 overs game possible. The game went long and ended around 1 AM. Sri Lanka won a thriller against Pakistan to qualify for the final. India won against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 round to mark their entry in the final. Both teams have suffered injury before the game as Axar Patel is likely to be ruled out due to multiple niggles. Maheesh Theekshana will be missing the final due to a hamstring injury as SLC announced in a release.
