IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 Super Four clash had a reserve day.

Rain has been a continuous feature of Asia Cup 2023 tournament. India have witnessed rain interruptions in almost every game they have played in the tournament so far. Once again in Khettarama, rain stopped the play between India vs Sri Lanka encounter. After 47 overs of the game in the first innings, heavy rain came in that lasted for about 50 minutes. The game was resumed shortly after the rain stopped to complete the India innings. Sri Lanka had a wonderful day against the Indian batting lineup and made them struggle.

Is there a reserve day for IND vs SL Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match?

A reserve day was kept to complete the big business India vs Pakistan encounter in the super 4 round. India’s opening clash against Pakistan was a washout in the second innings as the rain didn’t allow any further play after the first innings in Kandy. Looking at the weather, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) kept a reserve day in the super 4 round for the India vs Pakistan clash. This was the only game, along with the finals on September 17th, with reserve day, and no other game apart from this will be played on reserve day in the tournament.

Rain has troubled fans and viewers multiple times during the games hosted in Sri Lanka. Asia Cup 2023 was originally scheduled to be played in Pakistan, but the BCCI's reluctance to send their team to Pakistan prompted ACC to pick Sri Lanka as co-hosts, and the tournament is being played in a hybrid model. Pakistan got 4 games to host, while Sri Lanka got 9 games in the tournament. Colombo is the worst-hit part of Sri Lanka in the ongoing series, and most of the games are scheduled to be played here only.

Team India were bundled out for 213 runs as the Sri Lankans had dominated Indian batting lineup in most of the games. Left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage picked up five wickets in the game. Wellalage sent Indian top-order back in his first three overs. Rohit (53), Shubman (19), and Virat (3) all struggled to read Wellalage’s line and lost their wickets one by one. Sri Lanka needs 214 runs to win the game and make themselves comfortable in the race for the final.
