Ishan Kishan has been in the red-hot form for India in T20Is, but faced a painful blow ahead of IND vs NAM clash in T20 World Cup 2026.

Indian Cricket Team is gearing up for the second game of T20 World Cup 2026 against Namibia, which will take place on February 12 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Suryakumar Yadav & Co. is currently training at the venue to prepare for the encounter.

Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma opened the batting for India in the previous clash against USA. Sharma struggled with his stomach issues, and did not take the field in the second innings.

He was also admitted to a hospital due to a stomach infection. Although he was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday, he is highly likely to miss the IND vs NAM game on Thursday.

Amid Sharma’s health woes, the Men-in-Blue have sustained another blow as Kishan has also suffered an injury scare. The wicket-keeper batter took part in the training sessions at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday.

According to Sahil Malhotra of The Times of India, Kishan was hit on his left toe by Jasprit Bumrah’s delivery during the training session on Wednesday. He was seen in immense pain on the field with physios attending him. However, according to the reports, his injury is not serious.

Notably, Ishan and Abhishek opened the batting for India in the previous game against USA. Both of them failed to provide a powerful start to the batting, with Kishan scoring 20 runs and Abhishek bagging a golden duck.

Kishan made a comeback to the T20I team after more than two years ahead of the T20I series against New Zealand last month. Although he was initially picked as a secondary wicket-keeper in the World Cup squad, his magnificent performance against the Black Caps forced the management to promote him as an opener.

While Sanju Samson struggled across five games, Kishan rocked the field with two Player of the Match awards. In the fifth T20I, he also hammered his maiden century in the shortest format.
