Ishan Kishan heading NCA for strength and conditioning work ahead of India's tour of West Indies

Ishan Kishan likely to make it to India's squad for two-match test series against West Indies.
As the Indian cricket team got a month's break before their next tour of West Indies, Ishan Kishan and a few other contracted players will be heading to NCA for Strength and Conditioning work-related work. Ishan Kishan was a member of India’s 15-member squad for the World Test Championship Final replacing injured KL Rahul. Earlier Ishan Kishan had opted out of the upcoming Duleep Trophy tournament. Along with Ishan, a few other contracted players will also be traveling to National Cricket Academy in Bangalore next week. Players visit NCA during their long break to give updates on their fitness.
Ishan Kishan had a brilliant chance to make their case strong in the absence of regular wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant by playing in the Indian domestic season opener, Duleep Trophy. KS Bharat had a forgettable outing against Australia in the World Test Championship Final with the bat. A source close to Kishan has said, “Ishan has been a part of the Indian team regularly since last December and took a short break upon arrival from England after the World Test Championship Final”. Kishan has been a regular member of the playing XI in limited overs format.
India are looking for Rishabh's replacement in the test team, KS Bharat looks great behind the wicket but has been an average player with the bat. Kishan with his Pant style of game can provide that option India is looking for. But snubbing Duleep Trophy will hamper his chances in the red-ball format. One or two games before flying to the West Indies would have made him a front-runner for the place. Duleep Trophy will begin on 28th June and the Final will be played on 12th to 16th July. India’s West Indies tour will start with a Test on 13th July at Windsor Park Dominica.
