KS Bharat or Ishan Kishan ? Ravi Shastri picks his wicket-keeper choice for ICC WTC final

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri picks between KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan for the ICC WTC final.
India are set to take on Australia for the big World Test Championship final at The Oval from 7th June. The Indian cricket team have assembled to practice at Arundel Castle Cricket Club in West Sussex before the big game against Australia. Team India had a few severe injury concerns as well. Their ace match-winners in red-ball cricket Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant were ruled out for a long time. Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant suffered a massive accident in December last year. Pant’s accident has made him sit out for a long time. In his absence, KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan have got the opportunity in the WTC final.
Ravi Shastri picks KS Bharat
Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri has shared his opinion on Team India’s wicketkeeper selection before the final. Shastri has batted for KS Bharat for the final. Ravi Shastri said, “When you look at the WTC if I remember from the last time India were in the final, it is very important to know what you learn from that game… The choice has to be wicketkeeper and between KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan. I have a feeling that India might just go with, depending on who is playing… if two spinners are playing maybe KS Bharat”. KS Bharat made his test debut in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia and impressed everyone with his keeping skills.
Ishan Kishan was added to the team as opener KL Rahul’s replacement. KL Rahul was ruled out of the WTC final after he got himself injured in the IPL 2023 game against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Ishan Kishan had a decent IPL season for Mumbai Indians but team management will have more trust in KS Bharat with red-ball cricket. Rishabh Pant has been a match-winner for India in the test format and has won multiple games in foreign conditions. Bharat will have a big role in his hand as a keeper and also a lower middle-order batter.
