'It is fun to bat at opening or number 3' Ishan Kishan opens up on his preferred batting position

Ishan Kishan scored 52 runs against Australia in the 2nd T20I.
Team India took a 2-0 lead in the ongoing 5-match T20I series against Australia. They outclassed Australia by a huge margin of 44 runs in the 2nd T20I played at Greenfield Cricket Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The young brigade looked confident enough to outclass Australian T20I side under a new leader, Mathew Wade. From Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ruturaj Gaikwad to Rinku Singh, and Ishan Kishan all these guys have grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
Ishan Kishan is batting at his best and smashed two brilliant half-centuries in the first T20I games. Kishan scored 58 in the first game and led India to a magnificent chase in Visakhapatnam. Later on, He scored 52 runs in the second T20I game at Greenfield Cricket Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Kishan looked fearless in both innings and smashed 9 sixes in his two innings. Kishan expressed that it is fun for him to bat at number 3 or in the opening.

Wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan said that batting at the top-order makes him understand the game and situation. Kishan said, “I think it’s fun batting at the opening and first down at the same time. Because, you know, at least you know the situation when you are batting at one down, You know what game you have to play, what situation it is. Because initially, it was not easy for the batsman to go in and start rotating the strike.”
Ishan Kishan also stitched a fabulous 2nd wicket stand along with Ruturaj Gaikwad. They added 87 runs in 10 overs. Kishan said that his communication with Ruturaj Gaikwas was very good. Kishan said, “Like I also struggled a bit in the beginning. But you know, the communication was very good with Rutu as we were targeting bowlers. And at the same time, when I did not feel like going to a certain bowler, I asked him to go for it.”
Ishan Kishan was part of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Indian squad and played two games. He had a terrific year in 2023 and played a few great innings at international level. Team India posted 235 runs on the board and Australia fell short by 44 runs in the second game. The next game of the 5-match series will be played at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday. India are 2-0 up in the series and they will be looking to secure the series in the next game.
