Jammu & Kashmir defeated Delhi by seven wickets in Ranji Trophy 2025-26.

Jammu & Kashmir defeated Delhi by seven wickets in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2025-26 on Tuesday, November 11 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. With the victory, J&K scripted history by winning their first-ever game against Delhi in the tournament’s history. Opener Qamran Iqbal played a crucial role in the team’s victory, scoring an unbeaten century while chasing a 179-run target.

Delhi had a poor start after being asked to bat first. With half-centuries by captain Ayush Badoni (64), Ayush Doseja (65), and Sumit Mathur (55*), they were bundled out for 211 runs in the first innings. Auqib Nabi’s five-wicket haul restricted Delhi from reaching a big total.

For Jammu & Kashmir, captain Paras Dogra hammered 106 runs while Abdul Samad (85) scored a half-century. Wicketkeeper Kanhaiya Wadhawan also played a crucial knock of 47 runs, taking the scoreboard to 310. For Delhi, Simarjeet Singh clinched a six-wicket haul.

In the second innings, openers Arpit Rana and Sanat Sangwan etched an opening stand of 86 runs for Delhi, while Badoni (72) and Doseja (62) scored fifties. However, Vanshaj Sharma’s six wickets halted them at 277 all out, with Jammu & Kashmir needing 179 runs for victory. In the chase, Iqbal played an anchor role, hitting an unbeaten 133 runs to propel the team to their first-ever win against Delhi in Ranji Trophy history.

Iqbal scored the winning boundary for Jammu & Kashmir, as the team celebrated their huge achievement. The video of the moment went viral on social media.

With the victory, Jammu & Kashmir has moved to the top spot with 16 points in Elite Group D followed by Mumbai. Out of four games, they have won two, lost one, and one ended in a draw. They will clash with Hyderabad in the next encounter, which will begin on November 16.
