Jarvo invaded the pitch during IND vs AUS high-voltage clash at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
The high-voltage class between India and Australia in the fifth game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is underway at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. This is the first game for both teams in this all-important mega event in India. Both teams have some really big names on their sides, and fans are expecting a nail-biting contest between the two top contenders in the World Cup.
The game started with Australian captain Pat Cummins winning the toss and deciding to bat first. Star opener Shubman Gill has missed the game as he was not fit enough to be part of the team. Gill was diagnosed with dengue and couldn't take part in India's tournament's opener. Ishan Kishan replaced him in the team and will open the innings as confirmed by Indian captain Rohit Sharma at the toss.
Watch: England Jarvo invades the pitch once again during IND vs AUS ongoing clash in Chennai
It was just the start of the IND vs AUS game, and it saw the unexpected entry of a famous pitch invader from England, Daniel Jarvis (Jarvo), who was first seen during a test match between India and England in 2021 wearing an Indian jersey. Since then, he has been caught a few times invading the pitch during the Indian games. Though he was seen being taken away by the security personnel.
However, he was seen talking to former Indian captain Virat Kohli on the field. On the other hand, the ongoing game is pretty important for both teams, as it can decide which team can make it to the semis to some extent. The winner of this game will have huge confidence for the test of the tournament.
But the team that loses will have some areas to address. Both teams played a three-match ODI series just ahead of the World Cup. India came out victorious 2-1, but the third and final game was won by Australia pretty convincingly. Both teams are top favorites to win the tournament, and a win will give them a lot of confidence.
