IND vs SA: Jasprit Bumrah becomes second Indian bowler to pick 100 wickets in T20I cricket

Jasprit Bumrah also is the first Indian bowler to take 100+ wickets in all three formats for India.

The Indian Cricket Team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah achieved a massive feat in the history of T20I cricket. He became the second Indian bowler after Arshdeep Singh to take 100 wickets in the shortest format of the game. Also, he is now the first bowler to take 100+ wickets in all three formats for India.

Jasprit Bumrah achieved the feat in the first T20I of the five-match T20I series against the South Africa Cricket Team. The series opener between the teams took place at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Tuesday, December 9.

The first IND vs SA was all about the Indian bowlers and Jasprit Bumrah was among those who shone with the ball. The premier bowler couldn’t do much with the ball in the first two overs but then returned later to script history.

Jasprit Bumrah removed Dewald Brevis in the 11th over to complete 100 wickets in the T20Is after Arshdeep Singh. Then in the same over, he removed Keshav Maharaj to complete 101 wickets and became the first Indian bowler to take 100+ wickets in all three formats.

His heroics with the bat handed India a commanding win as they won the game by a massive margin of 101 runs. The hosts bundled out the opposition for just 74 to go 1-0 up in the series.

Earlier, India posted a total of 175 for six. They struggled initially with the bat to get going and were left reeling at 104 for five. But it was Hardik Pandya’s blinder that took India to a fighting total. Pandya slammed 59 off just 28 as he brought India back into game.
