Jasprit Bumrah returned with the figures of 5/83 in the 24.4 overs that he bowled in first innings.

Indian Cricket Team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah achieved a massive feat in the longest format of the game. He now has the joint-most number of fifers for the national team in the away tests, equalling former skipper Kapil Dev in the list.

Jasprit Bumrah achieved the feat in the ongoing first test between England and India. The series opener of the five-match series between the teams is taking place at Headingley in Leeds, which commenced on Friday (20th June).

Jasprit Bumrah delivered once again for India in crunch situations. The fast bowler oozed his class, and despite the lack of support, he made sure that he helped his team end England’s innings under India’s first innings total of 471 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah bagged a sensational five-wicket haul as he first removed Zak Crawley to take India off to a flying start. After that, his wickets included Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Chris Woakes and Josh Tongue. His wickets came at a time when his team was on the back foot.

This was Jasprit Bumrah’s 12th five-for in the away conditions, and he achieved the feat in just 24 tests, becoming the player with the joint-most five-wicket hauls outside India. Kapil Dev also bagged 12 fifers but in 66 games. Ishant, Sharma, Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan also feature in the list.
