Jasprit Bumrah is India's leading wicket-taker in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with 6 scalps to his name.

The intense rivalry between India and Pakistan is set to reignite once more at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14th.

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who made a comeback to the side during the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka in August, has so far impressed everyone in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup at home. Bumrah is India's leading wicket-taker in the tournament with six scalps to his name. He also registered his best World Cup bowling figures against Afghanistan on Wednesday.

After taking an impressive 4-39 in Wednesday’s eight-wicket win against Afghanistan, Bumrah said, "I’ve been away for a while now. I’ll be happy to see my mother at home. I’m going to see her. That’s the first basic thing for me.”

Jasprit Bumrah excited to reunite with his mother in Ahmedabad

India's premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has said that meeting his mother is more important to him than the big World Cup match against Pakistan on Saturday. Bumrah will be playing in his hometown, Ahmedabad, in front of 132,000 fans at the world's largest cricket stadium.

Jasprit Bumrah will turn his attention to the Pakistan match after reuniting with his mother. While he hasn't played a one-day international at this venue, he did played in a test match there.

“I have not played a one-dayer there but I have played a Test match. The atmosphere is going to be exciting. I’m sure a lot of people are going to come. So, it will be a sight to see. So yeah, hoping for the best over there.” said Bumrah at the post-match press conference.

On the other side, Pakistan are entering the India match with the momentum of a record-breaking chase against Sri Lanka. Babar Azam's team successfully pursued a target of 345 runs in Hyderabad, thanks to centuries from Mohammad Rizwan and Abdullah Shafique. When asked about the star batsmen in the Pakistan side, Bumrah emphasized that India should concentrate on their own game plans rather than being concerned about the opposing team's batting talent.

"See every team will have batsmen, every team will have bowlers. We also have batsmen; we also have bowlers. We're not preparing any special for any special team. Yes, we're looking at ourselves more than the others because we've realised that if we focus on our team, we focus on our strengths everything else takes care of itself. So we are focusing on our team, our preparation. If everything that is there in our control, we control that, that gives us the best chance. So that is what our team is focusing on," Bumrah concluded.
