Jasprit Bumrah was the leading wicket-taker in test cricket in 2024.

Following an incredible year in test cricket, India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has tightened his grip on the No. 1 position in the latest ICC test ranking for bowlers.

Over the course of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, where Bumrah was at his best, the 31-year-old widened the distance with his contemporaries Pat Cummins and Kagiso Rabada and his ratings surged.

In 2024, Bumrah took 71 test wickets, the most by an Indian fast bowler since Kapil Dev’s feat of 75 wickets in 1983. With a stellar show in the BGT 2024-25, Bumrah recorded the highest-ever rating points achieved by an Indian bowler as he earned 707 rating points.

In the latest ICC test bowlers ranking, following the Pakistan vs West Indies first test, Bumrah has 708 ratings.

The second-placed Cummins (841) and Kagiso Rabada (837), both of whom also had fruitful 2024 as they helped their sides reach the ICC WTC final, are left a significant distance behind by Indian spearhead seamer.
