[Watch] Jasprit Bumrah gets Nathan McSweeney with an unplayable delivery in Adelaide test

Jasprit Bumrah dismissed McSweeney and Smith in the morning session of day 2 in Adelaide.

Who else would deliver India a breakthrough whenever they need it but Jasprit Bumrah? As he did in first BGT 2024-25 test in Perth, the spearhead Indian fast bowler has been a headache for Australia in Adelaide as well.

After dismissing Usman Khawaja in the third session of day 1, Bumrah struck twice in the first hour of day 2 to get rid of Nathan McSweeney and Steve Smith. The right-handed opener indeed got a jaffa from Bumrah.

In the night session on day 1, McSweeney had looked solid and scored comfortably off Siraj and Harshit Rana. Bumrah provided India a breakthrough early on day 2 by dismissing the opener with a terrific delivery.

It was once again Bumrah’s awkward angle and release point that caused trouble for McSweeney. From wide of the crease, Bumrah bowled a slightly back-of-length delivery angled into McSweeney outside the off-stump.

With the ball being directed inward, McSweeney had to play at it. The batsman played a defensive shot just inside the line of the ball but the ball didn’t came in as much as he expected it to. Thus, it took a thin outside edge which was caught easily by wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant and McSweeney was on his way back to the dressing room, while Bumrah celebrated with his arms aloft.

After McSweeney, Bumrah claimed Smith for only two runs. It was a lucky wicket for India as Smith edged a leg-stump delivery down the leg side to Pant, who took a good catch.
