Jasprit Bumrah was due to play just three games in the ENG vs IND series.

Indian Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir opened up about whether Jasprit Bumrah will play fifth test of the ongoing series against the England Cricket Team or not. He said that although all the bowlers are fit but no decision so far has been taken on the premier pacer for the last game. 

The England vs India series is nearing its conclusion, and there is just one game left in the series, with the winners yet to be decided. The match will be played at the Oval in London, commencing on 31st July.

Since the start of the fourth test, India have been battling a lot of injuries. To worsen the case more, Rishabh Pant has also been ruled out of the last game and with the next test just around the corner, it remains to be seen what their combination will be.

One of the key decisions for team management will be to see if Bumrah plays the next test or not. The fast bowler was due to play just three games in the series, and he has already done that. But, with the series still on the line, there might be a chance that he features.

Indian bowlers struggled largely in Manchester. Bumrah had an off game, and also, debutant Anshul Kamboj looked out of sorts, while Mohammed Siraj also looked rusty. With just three days of rest between the fourth and fifth test, they are likely to make a few changes.

Gautam Gambhir, however, provided a massive update, saying that all the fast bowlers are fit and there are no injury concerns in the camp.

“All the fast bowlers are fit,” Gambhir said after India’s 143-over batting effort to secure a draw at Old Trafford and stay alive in the series. “There are no injury concerns.”

Gautam Gambhir also added that they haven’t made any decision on Jasprit Bumrah. But he is sure that whoever plays will give their best in the game.

“We haven’t had any conversation around the combination for the last Test,” Gambhir replied. “No decision has been made on whether Jasprit Bumrah will play or not. Ultimately, whoever plays, they will try and do the job for the country.”

After the draw in the Manchester test, the series sill is in favour of England by a margin of 2-1. India would be keen to win the last game and level the series.
