Jasprit Bumrah missed India’s last game against USA in T20 World Cup 2026.
The Indian Cricket Team started their campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 without their premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Thankfully, it didn’t cost them much as they beat USA in their tournament opener at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai by 29 runs to start the tournament on a high.
Jasprit Bumrah missed the IND vs USA clash due illness, and it was Mohammed Siraj, who was added into the squad as an injury replacement of Harshit Rana, who got the opportunity and stood tall. The Hyderabad pacer bagged three wickets, helping his side restrict USA to 132/8 against a target of 162 runs.
India have now shift their base to Delhi, where they will take on Namibia at Arun Jaitley Stadium. The match will be played on Thursday, February 12 and one of the things that has been bothering fans is about Jasprit Bumrah’s availability for the clash.

Amid al the speculations, Indian batter Tilak Varma, at pre-match press conference of IND vs NAM, confirmed that the fast bowler is available for selection and will be there for the second game.
“Bumrah should be back for the second game. He’s absolutely fine,” Tilak said.
Bumrah had an extended net session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, which in itself reveals that he is fit for the IND vs NAM clash. His absence will be a great boost for Indian side as well as for himself, considering that Pakistan clash is around the corner. The fast bowler needs game time ahead of IND vs PAK clash, and the Namibia game provides a great opportunity for him to do that.
Bumrah is expected to replace Siraj in the XI for IND vs NAM clash. He along with Arshdeep Singh will key for India in the game along with the rest of the tournament. In the last T20 World Cup, Bumrah won the Player of the Tournament, and the team would expected something similar from him.
