Jasprit Bumrah missed India's second group match of Asia Cup 2023 against Nepal in Kandy.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has rejoined the Indian camp in Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup Super 4 round. Jasprit Bumrah flew back to India just before the Nepal game of Nepal for the birth of his child. The next day the Bumrah couple was blessed with a baby boy. Jasprit Bumrah has now arrived in Colombo and joined the Indian camp. India have qualified for the next round in the Asia Cup after beating Nepal in their last league in Bumrah’s absence and are gearing up to take on arch-rivals Pakistan once again in the tournament.

Jasprit Bumrah made his One-day International comeback against Pakistan in Kandy but couldn’t get a chance to bowl at Pakistani batters due to heavy rain. Jasprit Bumrah will be joining in the practice session of the Indian team in Colombo on Friday as well. Team India got almost a week's break before their next game in the tournament. His departure from the middle of the tournament raised many speculations about his injury and fitness but he cleared it all with his Instagram post announcing a new arrival in his family.

Rain in Colombo

Colombo is expected to witness wet weather in the next week. Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 round will be played entirely at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, including the Final on 17th September. The Asian Cricket Council was looking for a change in the venue as Sri Lanka is witnessing heavy rains due to delayed monsoon. ACC had a chat with participating teams about playing the next round in Hambantota but as per a few media reports India and Pakistan both refused to play there, the reasons are unknown.

Heavy rain is expected in Colombo on match days as well as on Friday when teams will be training hard to take on each other in the next round. There is above 60-70% chance of rain on match days in Colombo. The super 4 round will resume on 9th September when Sri Lanka will take on Bangladesh and then the next day India will take on Pakistan at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Pakistan have already got their opening win in this round as they defeated Bangladesh at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.
