Jasprit Bumrah is part of India squad for Asia Cup 2025.
The Indian Cricket Team’s squad for Asia Cup 2025 was revealed on Tuesday (August 19) by chief selector Ajit Agarkar and T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav during a press conference in Mumbai. The squad also marked the return of Jasprit Bumrah in T20Is as he will lead team’s pace attack in the tournament.
Bumrah will be sharing the fast bowling duties with Arshdeep Singh, and Harshit Rana, who are other two pacers in India squad. Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube are the seam-bowling all-rounders included in the squad. Notably, Bumrah has not played any T20I games this year and has made a comeback in the shortest format after more than a year.
Last month, the right-arm pacer showed brilliant form in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. He picked 14 wickets across three tests during the series. He also gave a brilliant performance in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Playing for Mumbai Indians (MI), the right-arm pacer clinched 18 wickets in 12 games at an economy of 6.67.
Jasprit Bumrah returns to India T20I squad after 416 days

Notably, the senior Indian pacer has returned to T20I squad after 416 days. His last game in T20I came during the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 against South Africa in Barbados on June 30 last year.
Notably, Bumrah played only three games out of five tests during the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 to manage his workload.
Moreover, Shubman Gill is another player who has returned to T20I squad after a long time. Gill has been named as the vice-captain of India for Asia Cup 2025. He last played a T20I match in July last year.
Meanwhile, Asia Cup 2025 will commence on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman are part of Group A in the tournament. India will face the UAE in their opening game on September 10. The Men in Blue will enter the tournament as the defending champions.
