Jasprit Bumrah provided India with the first breakthrough during match 2 of Asia Cup 2025.

India pacer Jasprit Bumrah provided the first breakthrough to the team during their opening clash against United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Asia Cup 2025. The encounter between is underway at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on Wednesday, September 10.

Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to field first in the encounter. Skipper Muhammad Waseem and Alishan Sharafu opened the batting for the UAE, with the latter giving a quick start to the team with three fours and one six.

However, his stint was short-lived as Bumrah dismissed him in the fourth over with a rip snorter. The pacer delivered a deadly yorker to which the batter had no clue as his off-stump got dismantled. He scored 22 runs off 17 balls before losing his wicket.

Meanwhile, the UAE faced a batting collapse in the clash, losing key batters for single digits. They got all out for 57 runs with Kuldeep Yadav picking four wickets. Shivam Dube bagged three wickets, while others were amongst the wickets as well.

Jitesh, Harshit Rana, Rinku Singh, and Arshdeep Singh were not picked in the playing XI for the clash against the UAE. Meanwhile, both India and the UAE are part of Group A in Asia Cup 2025. Pakistan and Oman are the other two teams in the same group. They will clash with each other in their opening game on September 12.
