Jitesh Sharma became fifth Indian batter to get hit wicket in a T20 international match.

In the third and final T20 International between India and South Africa, the stakes were high as India aimed to level the series at 1-1. The match, is being played at Johannesburg. India have set a challenging target of 202 runs for South Africa.

India, after being sent in to bat after South Africa won the toss, showcased a formidable performance, posting a total of 201/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Suryakumar Yadav played pivotal roles, scoring 60 and 100 runs, respectively, laying the foundation for a competitive target.

Jitesh Sharma got hit wicket

As the match entered its final phase, the spotlight turned to Jitesh Sharma, who faced the unfortunate twist of fate in the most dramatic fashion. When India were at 199/6, Jitesh Sharma, attempted for a drive on a length delivery, lofted the ball over mid-off. However, in an unexpected turn of events, his heel grazed the stumps, dislodging the leg bail, resulting in a rare hit-wicket dismissal.

Jitesh Sharma’s dismissal added an unexpected twist to the game. The crowd, initially cheering for every run, fell silent as the leg bail tumbled off, leaving Sharma visibly disappointed at the crease.

Despite the setback, India managed to reach a competitive total, thanks to valuable contributions from other batsmen headlined by captain Suryakumar Yadav, who smashed his fourth T20I ton. South African bowlers, led by Lizaad Williams, faced a challenging task but managed to restrict India’s total to 201.
