A bizarre event happened during the ongoing Manchester test between England Cricket Team and Indian Cricket Team. The hosts’ batter Joe Root mistakenly broke Mohammed Siraj’s fitness band on day three of the game.
During the 52nd over of England’s innings on day three, Siraj’s delivery hit Root’s pads. Indian pacer lifted his hands while appealing for an LBW. As Root tried to take a run, his bat hit Siraj’s fitness band, and it broke. Later, Siraj was seen picking it up from the field.

Meanwhile, Root scored a century in the first innings of the Manchester test. During his innings, the right-handed batsman also became the second-highest run-scorer in test cricket. He overtook Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis, and Ricky Ponting and is now only behind Sachin Tendulkar in the list of batters with most runs in test cricket.

Root hammered his 38th century in the encounter. With his ton, England have crossed 500 runs in the first innings. He got out for 150 runs off 248 balls. Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, and Ben Stokes slammed half-centuries for England in the first innings.
Indian bowlers have largely failed to dominate England batters in the encounter. In the first innings, India piled up 358/10 with half-centuries by Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan, and Rishabh Pant. Stokes picked a five-wicket haul in the first innings while Jofra Archer clinched three wickets.
