ENG vs IND: [Watch] Jofra Archer sends Rishabh Pant's stumps for a cartwheel on day five of the Lord's test

Rishabh Pant was dismissed for just nine runs by Jofra Archer.

Rishabh Pant‘s cheap departure on Monday (14th July) gave India a terrible start to the final day of the current third Test match against Lord’s against England. India were down in their difficult 193-run chase after Pant’s wicket.

On day four, England had already exerted pressure on India. Shubman Gill was dismissed for six and Karun Nair for 14 by Brydon Carse. Ben Stokes, the captain, dismissed nightwatchman Akash Deep for one, while Jofra Archer dismissed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal for a duck. On Day four, India was 58 for 4 at stumps.

In the first innings of the game, both teams scored 387 runs. Washington Sundar helped dismiss the hosts for 192 in the second innings of England by taking 4 for 22. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah each took two wickets.

From 58/4, India started their innings with KL Rahul and Pant at the wicket. For a few minutes early in the first session of the pivotal day, the pair appeared promising. Despite hitting two attractive fours, Pant was always conscious of the ache in his left hand. Although he was nervous at first, he moved down the track to Archer and hit a four.

Before Archer worked his magic, the two added another 13 runs to the total. He missed the crease and aimed it right into the left-hander on the fifth ball of the 21st over. The ball took the top of the off-stump after coming in naturally and then sailing off the field.

With a fantastic delivery that sent stumps flying everywhere, he went past Pant’s defense. He offered the in-form Pant an angry farewell after dismissing him for nine runs.

Archer also shared a few words while commemorating the significant achievement, and the video of his farewell has gone viral on social media.
