England have arrived in Guwahati for their title defence of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. England will be playing their opening warm-up fixture against India at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on September 30th. England played their final ODI game against Ireland on September 26th, and since then, in the next 3 days, they have travelled for about 42 hours to reach their destination in north-east India for the warm-up round.

After arriving in Mumbai, England cricket team travelled to Guwahati in economy class flight. Wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow was livid after the complete mis-management the team suffered while they were heading to Guwahati. Bairstow posted a picture on social media where the England players can be found seated and surprised to watch their fellow travellers in-flight queuing up to the exit door. English players looked drained after a long journey.

No flight service provides business-class travel to Assam's Guwahati, and teams have to travel in economy class. A charter plane was also not provided to England. Both India and England have arrived in Guwahati and will begin their preparations for their warm-up clash on Friday.

England first arrived in Mumbai from London, and then they had to travel to Guwahati. England will again fly to Ahmedabad after playing their final warm-up game against Bangladesh on October 2. England will play the tournament opener against New Zealand on October 5 at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. They will be travelling across India for their league games, apart from Chennai and Hyderabad.

England have won the World Cup trophy only once in their history, in 2019 as hosts. They defeated New Zealand by the barest of margins in the finals played at Lord’s. 2019 final hero Ben Stokes has come out of retirement to represent England in World Cup event one last time. Stokes will be taking on the big responsibility of title defence for his national side alongside Jos Buttler. England won the T20 World Cup in 2022 under Buttler's captaincy.
