Kagiso Rabada picked a 5-wicket haul against India in the first test match at Centurion.

Right-arm pacer Kagiso Rabada has put South Africa on top in the first day against South Africa at Supersport Park in Centurion. Rabada utilised the conditions pretty well in the early morning after the rain delay. Rabada put Indian batters in an uncomfortable position with his pace and got an early wicket removing Rohit Sharma (5) caught at fine-leg by Nandre Burger.

India lost three early wickets in the innings as Nandre Burger also chipped in with 2 wickets in the first 10 overs. Burger got Shubman Gill (2) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (17) out to put India in more trouble. Indian middle-order couldn’t stand tall against South African pace attack. Kagiso Rababa has also joined a special club as he completed his 500th international wicket in career.

Kagiso Rabada 7th South African to join 500 club

Kagiso Rabada has become the 7th South African pace bowler to join the 500 international wicket club from South Africa. Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur became Rabada’s 500th international scalp. Rabada joined the elite list of Shaun Pollock (823), Dale Steyn (697), Makhaya Ntini (661), Allan Donald (602), Jacques Kallis (572), and Morne Morkel (535).

South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has been a prolific wicket-taker for South Africa across formats. Rabada has picked up 285* wickets in test matches, 157 wickets in 101 ODIs, and 58 wickets in 56 T20I games. Rabada has a magnificent strike rate of 35.2 in international cricket. Kagiso Rabada took 218 games to complete the special milestone.

After Rohit, Kagiso Rabada dismissed Shreyas Iyer. Right-hand batter Iyer added 78 runs for the 4th wicket along with Virat Kohli. Soon after Iyer’s dismissal, Rabada got Virat Kohli out on 38. He dismissed Ravi Ashwin as his 4th wicket in the innings and Shardul Thakur became his 5th wicket of the game. India ended the first day’s play at 208 for 8 as the game was stopped early due to rain.
