Kagiso Rabada will also miss three ODIs and five T20Is against India after the two-test series.
South Africa have suffered a massive blow ahead of the second test against India in Guwahati as pacer Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of the match. South Africa lead the two-test series 1-0 and have a chance to win their first series in India since 2000. The second game begins on November 22.
Kagiso Rabada had suffered a rib injury on the day of the first test in Kolkata and was ruled out as a precaution by the South African team management. He was replaced in the playing XI by Corbin Bosch, who played a significant role in Proteas’ win with his contribution with the bat.
South Africa’s bowling star in Kolkata was Simon Harmer, who took eight wickets. Keshav Maharaj was the second spinner, Marco Jansen was the fast bowler, while Wiaan Mulder and Corbin Bosch also contributed.
Mulder, on the other hand, bowled only five overs in the test, and Bosch, despite bowling more, only took one wicket – Rishabh Pant in the first innings. Bosch did, however, make a crucial contribution of 25 runs from No. 9 in South Africa’s second innings.
“Rabada has been withdrawn”- South Africa management confirm he’ll miss the second test and remainder of the tour

Rabada is a key member of South Africa’s test squad, and he was expected to play in the series’ first game.
Rabada had various medical tests and exams before being declared unfit to play. According to reports, Kagiso Rabada was doubtful for the second match, and Cricket South Africa (CSA) added Lungi Ngidi to the squad as cover.
And now South Africa Cricket have confirmed that Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of not only the Guwahati test, but the remainder of the India tour as well. South Africa is set to play three ODIs and five T20Is after the test series.
“The injury has been closely monitored by the Proteas medical team, and due to ongoing discomfort in the affected area, Rabada has been withdrawn from the remainder of the tour. He will continue the initial phase of his four-week rehabilitation program with the Proteas medical team before returning to South Africa at the conclusion of the second Test,” Cricket South Africa said in a statement on Friday morning.
According to ESPNcricinfo, Rabada had not bowled since suffering an injury in training last Tuesday in Kolkata, and he did not train on Wednesday in Guwahati.
