Kamran Akmal said that India did a lot of damage to cricket with their actions during Asia Cup 2025.

Former Pakistan wicket-keeper batter Kamran Akmal has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to stop playing cricket against Indian Cricket Team after the recent controversies in Asia Cup 2025. He also feels that other cricket boards should come together against India following their actions in Asia Cup 2025.

After defeating Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025 final by five wickets, the Men in Blue refused to take the trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Mohsin Naqvi, who also happens to be the PCB chairman and also a minister in Pakistan’s government.

Following that, Naqvi fled away with the trophy and the champions, Indian Cricket Team, couldn’t lay their hands on the silverware.

Earlier in the tournament, Indian players refused to shake hands with Pakistan players during their group stage clash in Asia Cup 2025.

We should never play against India: Kamran Akmal urges Pakistan Cricket Board

During a conversation on ARY News, former Pakistan wicket-keeper Akmal urged PCB to stop playing cricket against India with immediate effect. He also said that other boards should come together and boycott India.

“Pakistan board should immediately say that ‘we should never play against India’. Let’s see what action ICC takes. What else evidence do you need after this? But the BCCI person is leading the ICC – how will he (Jay Shah) take any action? The other boards have to come together, say we can’t see this in cricket. Sport is not played at anyone’s home. If others don’t play them, then no money is going to come,” he said.

“The earlier these things can be controlled, the better for everybody. A neutral body has to be formed without Pakistan and India, make a committee of Australians, South Africans, and New Zealanders and let them decide on what action to be taken about all that has happened in this tournament,” he added.

Akmal also feels that India did a lot of damage to cricket during Asia Cup 2025 with their actions, and they will continue to repeat their behaviour in future.

“This cheap harkatein (behaviour) we shall keep seeing from India. We have seen in this tournament that they have done as much damage to cricket as they could. PCB and ACC president took the right stand – take the trophy or not, it will be given by the president only. India will become the joke of the cricketing world,” he added.

Notably, the PCB filed a complaint against Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav for his remarks to dedicate the group-stage victory against Pakistan to the Pahalgam terrorist attack victims. They alleged that he made it a political issue.

Suryakumar, who pleaded not guilty in the matter, was fined 30% of his match fees, according to multiple reports.

On the other hand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) filed complaints against Shahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf over their provocative gestures during the Super Four game. While Rauf was fined 30% of his match fees, Farhan was issued a strict warning.
