Kapil Dev slams modern Indian cricketers for their ego and attitude

Sunil Gavaskar had pointed out that newer generation of Indian players have not approached him for help.
Legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev has come down heavily on modern-era Indian cricketers for not asking for help from yesteryear superstars due to their ego and arrogance.
This comes after his teammate Sunil Gavaskar had said that while older generation of players like Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, and others used to come to him for guidance with the bat, none of the current era players have done the same and he doesn’t know why.
Gavaskar, who has always been friendly and willing to help, has noticed technical issues in the top order but finds it odd that neither the seniors nor the younger players have sought out his aid in any way.
The Indian batter's refusal to seek Gavaskar's advice is all the more perplexing given that it is clear that his subpar batting is the result of a lack of effort and a few technique errors.
"No, no one has come. Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman regularly came to me. And they would approach me with a specific problem and you could tell them something which you had observed. I don't have an ego about this, I could go and talk to them but since there are two coaches — Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathore – so sometimes you hold back since you don’t want to confuse them with too much information," Gavaskar had told Indian Express.
Money, Arrogance, Ego': Kapil Dev blasts India Stars
And now, Kapil Dev has said that while saying that the increasing riches and wealth of current players has probably made them egoistical and arrogant to ask for help.
"Differences come out, the good (thing) about these players...is that they are very confident. Negative point is they think they know everything. I don't know how to put it better than that. But they are confident, but they think 'you don't have to ask anybody'. What we believe is an experienced person can help you," Kapil Dev said on The Week.
He added that when Gavaskar said that when he is willing to help out the young ones, why is there so much ego in the new generation to avoid him?
"Sometimes too much money comes, arrogance comes. These cricketers think they know everything. That's the difference. I would say there are so many cricketers who need help. When Sunil Gavaskar is there, why can't you talk? Where is the ego? There is no ego as such. They feel 'we are good enough'. Maybe they are good enough, but extra help from somebody who has seen 50 seasons of cricket, he knows things. Listening sometimes can change your thought," Kapil Dev added.
