Karun Nair scored 205 runs in four games during the ENG vs IND test series.

Karun Nair, who made his comeback to the Indian test team after eight years during the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, has put himself in trouble. According to reports in the Times of India (TOI), it is learned that the right-handed batsman sustained a finger injury during the fifth test between India and England at The Oval.

The reports confirmed that Karun Nair has sustained a minor fracture in his finger and will be taking some time to recover. The right-hander struggled to come up with a consistent batting show during the series. At an average of 25.62, the 33-year-old mustered 205 runs in eight innings across four tests.

Notably, Nair failed to score a half-century in the first three tests against England. Therefore, he was dropped from the playing XI in the fourth test in Manchester. However, the team added him back in the XI for the fifth and final test, where he also hammered a crucial half-century in the first innings.

Central Zone will commence their journey in Duleep Trophy 2025-26 with the opening game against North East Zone in the second Quarter-Final. The encounter will commence on August 28 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground B, Bengaluru.

The domestic tournament will witness a clash between six teams- North Zone, South Zone, East Zone, West Zone, Central Zone, and North East Zone. South Zone are the defending champion of the tournament, which won the previous edition in the 2023-24 season. Notably, the tournament will return to a zonal format this year.
